How It All Started

Our story actually began centuries ago, when natives of Australia distilled precious oil from the leaves of the Melaleuca Alternifolia tree. A natural organic substance, Tea Tree Oil proved to be extraordinarily effective in healing, soothing, and conditioning skin and hair.

It wasn't until the mid 1980's that our company's founder discovered the extraordinary healing powers of this precious oil. His personal experience prompted an investigation that began with the Australian ambassador to the United States and the Australian Trade Council. Following exhaustive research regarding the healing powers of Melaleuca Alternifolia Oil (also known as Tea Tree Oil) and its potential for the pet care industry; the decision was made to launch a line of pet care products whose key ingredient would be Tea Tree Oil.

MiracleCorp™ Products was founded in 1988 under the company's original name, Australias, then changed to MelaCorp of Australia and finally to MiracleCorp.

Our initial product line was first marketed as "Mela Miracle”, and in order to better represent the extraordinary effectiveness of our pet care products, our product line became known as Miracle Coat®.

Significant growth continued with products being sold around the world and the introduction of new Miracle Coat products in other animal care categories, particularly the equine skin and coat category, making the same quality products for pets, available to horse lovers.

In 1996, beautiful gold plated shears were added to the product line. This premium value product group is well regarded as the best value in retail shears. Growth continued through product line extension, and in June 2001, through the acquisition of White Horse Trading Company, the fine brands of Grooma®, ManeMaster®, and NickerSnax®, extended MiracleCorp Products into nearly every main category of horse care products.

Additionally, in 2001, MiracleCorp introduced the first soft grip horse brush line, added other grooming tools and introduced Miracle Health™ , a high efficacy and quality line of supplements and nutraceuticals. By 2003, Stewart Pet Products, Animal Legends, and certain assets of BGI Mainline UK were acquired. Dedicated to continual growth, innovation, and service, MiracleCorp Products was pleased to announce, in 2005, the acquisition of Summit Flexible Products, Ltd.

Started by two brothers, Wayne and Fletcher Strickler in August, 1979 as the Kentucky Document Shredding Company in Louisville, Kentucky, Group Summit’s reason for operating was to shred paper for cost effective barn stall matting. In 1981, the Stricklers, always creative, further explored other ideas adding grooming tools and rubber stall mats.

During the 80’s, the company experienced strong growth and became recognized as a leader of stall mats and grooming accessories. In 1993, The Kentucky Document Shredding Company was separated into two companies: Summit Flexible Products, Ltd., and The Ashland Partnership Ltd. Just over ten years later, in 2005, Summit Flexible Products, Ltd joined the MiracleCorp Products family. The extensive selection of mats offers specialty flooring for equine, dairy, canine and human markets.

While all this growth was taking place at MiracleCorp Products and Summit Flexible Products, Ltd., there was another quality company located in Ocala, Florida, an area noted for its horse farms that was, along with a wide range of nylon horse and pet products, producing the “Cadillac of Halters”.

In 1975, in Pontiac, Michigan, Mrs. Hamilton, not satisfied with the quality of nylon halters available, wanted a more substantial halter for their racehorses. Mr. Hamilton, then 60, and a successful business man who once owned one of the largest subscription magazine sales organizations, agreed. They set up a sewing machine in their garage, and together, started Hamilton Products, Inc.

Mr. Hamilton began making halters to his exacting standards with brass tips and eyelets – this legacy still exists today. Securing leather from the nearby Cadillac plant to line the insides of the nose band, the term “Cadillac of Halters” was born.

In time, the Hamilton’s moved to Ocala, Florida bringing with them their vision for a company based on developing products that always represent characteristics of comfort, quality and style. Dedicated to profitable growth while providing innovative and quality nylon and leather goods to pets, horses and show animals, Hamilton earned a worldwide reputation as the world leader in nylon halters.

After the passing of Mr. Hamilton at the age of 86, “Mrs. H” and their daughter, Pam continued to be active in the daily operations of the company until retirement in 2006, when MiracleCorp Products acquired the company.
